Kingsley English

One-to-one English · Ages 7–17

“Is this actually working?”

At the end of every level, you get the answer on video.

Ten levels, each with a named finish line. Your child sits an exam at the end of each one, and we send you the recording, along with a full report. You don’t have to take our word for anything.

Years of English lessons. So what can they actually do?

Most parents can’t answer that, because the answer they’ve been given is a letter and a number. A2 doesn’t tell you whether your child could hold a conversation with someone their own age. It doesn’t tell you anything you could check.

There’s a harder problem underneath it. Plenty of children know far more English than they ever say out loud. In a room with thirty classmates, getting a word wrong is a thing that happens in public, so the safest move is to say nothing, and the habit sets in early.

Proof

Progress you can play back.

Every level ends in an exam. Your child does the things the level promised, we record it, and we send you the video along with a report that works through the level’s outcomes one by one: what they met, what they’re strong at, what comes next.

Not a progress bar. Your child, speaking English.

Four steps, and you pay after the third.

Nothing is owed until your child has met their teacher and had a full lesson.

  1. 1

    A free consultation

We meet you and your child, hear what you’re hoping for, and walk you through how the Map works. It’s a conversation, not a sales call.

  2. 2

    A placement test

Spoken and written. This is how we find where on the Map your child actually starts, which is often not where a school report suggests.

  3. 3

    We match a teacher

Chosen for your child specifically, from what we learned in the first two steps. And they stay.

  4. 4

    A free first lesson

Your child meets their teacher. Nothing has been paid, and nothing is owed if you stop here.

Teachers

Choosing the right teacher shouldn’t be your job.

It’s ours. We get to know your child in the consultation and the placement test, then choose the teacher who fits. And that teacher stays.

Questions

The questions parents actually ask us

Short answers, and none of them dodge. If something here matters to you, bring it to the consultation and we’ll go further.

How will I know my child is actually making progress?

Every level ends in specific things your child can do, not a label. At the end of Explorer, for instance, they can introduce themselves, talk about their family and school, and answer questions about what they like. Then they sit an exam on it, and we send you the recording.

What do A1, A2 and B1 mean? I don’t really follow them.

You don’t need to. They’re technical labels for linguists. We tell you what your child can do; the CEFR equivalent is there as a footnote for when a school or an exam board asks for one.

How do we know when a level is finished?

Your child sits an exam covering everything the level promised. Once they pass it, we send you the recording, in their own voice, in their own sentences, along with a detailed report on how they did across the level.

Will my child have the same teacher every lesson?

Yes. One teacher is assigned to your child and stays with them. A child needs to trust the person they’re speaking English to, and trust doesn’t survive starting over every week.

Who chooses the teacher, you or me?

Either. After the consultation and the placement test we recommend the teacher we think fits your child, based on their level, age, personality and what they’re working towards. You’re also welcome to read the profiles and choose yourself.

Where are your teachers from?

Malawi, where English is an official language and our teachers speak it natively. Every profile states the country plainly and carries an introduction video. You can listen and judge for yourself.

Will my child understand their accent?

Don’t take our word for it: every profile has a video, and a few seconds will answer the question better than we can. The first lesson is also free, so you’ll see how they get on together before anything is paid.

How do you choose your teachers?

Four stages: we read the CV, shortlist, interview them live, and then watch them teach a full lesson before deciding. Nobody joins on a good interview alone.

Start with a conversation.

Free, no commitment, and not a sales call. We want to meet your child, hear what you’re hoping for, and show you the Map. What happens after that is your decision.
